Man sent ‘flying’ by car

Police and St John respond to an incident in Rattray St where a man was struck by a reversing car yesterday.

A witness said a man crossing Rattray St was sent "flying" after being struck by a vehicle reversing into a carpark.

A police spokeswoman said they responded to an incident in Princes and Rattray Sts about 12.30pm.

A car had hit a pedestrian and police were speaking to the driver, the spokeswoman said.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said the patient was in a moderate condition and taken to a local health centre by ambulance.
