A person has been arrested following a disorderly incident which resulted in a person being hit by a car in Dunedin this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to a disorder in Maitland St, near The Oval, about 4.35pm.
"During that disorder someone has been hit by a car."
The vehicle fled the scene, but a person was arrested by police shortly after, she said.
It was not known if the person hit by the car was injured.
They were being transported by police not ambulance, and that likely indicated their injuries, if any, were not severe, the spokeswoman said.
St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said they were stood down.
