Career opportunities and skills shortages in Otago will be highlighted at an Otago Careers Festival in May.
The festival will take an "any age, any stage" approach, with more than 60 events focusing on people in work, job seekers, employers, those returning to the workforce and migrants, co-ordinator Victoria Bunton said.
"I believe the timing of the event is extremely relevant to the current economic climate, as now is a more important time than any for people to be thinking about their career path."
The Otago Community Trust and Otago Chamber of Commerce have supported the event, which is organised in partnership with the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs.
The festival was a great way to publicise the opportunities available within the community and promote new ones, Otago Chamber of Commerce chief executive John Christie said.
