Another by-election will be held at the Otago University Students' Association, after the resignation of a new member.
Four vacancies were filled two weeks ago through a by-election but international students officer Ding (Yi) Ding has since resigned. The Chinese national had to go home unexpectedly, OUSA president Logan Edgar said.
Although Shane Corrigan also vied for the position, he would not automatically be put into the role, Mr Edgar said.
Voting is expected to take place in the next few weeks.
Nearly 2000 votes were initially cast by students for their four preferred representatives.
