John Hayden, and his daughter Maia, 10, will be attending at least five of the six matches together, which are being hosted at Dunedin Stadium.
Maia, who agrees she comes from a family of "football tragics", said she was excited to see some of her favourite players up close.
"It’s so exciting it is here in Dunedin," she said.
Maia said she would be supporting New Zealand, the United States and England in the tournament.
Her favourite players were Football Ferns defender CJ Bott and US midfielder Megan Rapinoe.
"I’ve only ever watched them on TV — they’re icons," she said.
"I love football, and I love that girls can play it too."
Maia said she enjoyed playing football with her friends, and agreed that her dancing lessons helped her with her footwork.
Mr Hayden said he was "fizzing" about the opportunity to see international football in Dunedin.
He will be attending all six of the matches here.
"I’m a World Cup nerd," he said.
"But this is a particular opportunity for young people to see some amazing role models.
"It’s a good time for women’s sport."
The World Cup campaign began with a hiss and a roar, after the Football Ferns upset Norway 1-0 at a packed Eden Park on Thursday in the tournament’s opening match.
But Maia said she was happy to just watch the games.
"They’re going to be so much fun."
