Here we have some sort of ballerina dog. It is made from plastic, but not just any plastic; rather, cheap plastic made to look like expensive crystal. How clever is that?
I don't know how clever it is.
Plastic used in such toys is usually derived from oil. I question the wisdom of using the finite and dwindling oil resource to make plastic ballerina dogs.
Still, it is interesting to marvel at the industry that has arisen somewhere in the world, possibly in Asia, possibly China, to cater to man's appetite for delicate little dog figurines he will soon discard. Somewhere, a factory chugs these things out.
And to think this specimen has ended up in a New Zealand gutter, fallen spring petals at its foot.
I would quite like to see a ballet choreographed for a company of clear plastic dogs in see-through tutus on an atmospheric concrete stage.
What would the dance be about?
Tragic doomed love in the pound, where the heroine is euthanised, probably.
