The Waitaki Aquatic Centre in Steward St, Oamaru, is the place to be for lots of great family holiday fun.
Located in the heart of Oamaru, adjacent to the gardens, it's easy to find and provides an ideal holiday activity for those staying in the North Otago town.
The main pool remains at a glorious 28.6 degrees and the learners' pool is consistently warm on 32 degrees, which makes it ideal for mothers and toddlers, while the diving board and slide are real hits with the kids.
Aqua-fun sessions are held every Saturday from 2pm to 4pm and also on Wednesdays during school holidays. This is when the children can enjoy great fun on the inflatables in each pool. Play equipment will be in the pools each day, so come along and be prepared !
The spa is another popular feature, piping hot and pure bliss for those aching muscles.
The centre is open every day from Monday to Friday from 6am to 8pm and at weekends from 10am to 6pm.
At only $4 per adult, $2 per child or $12 for a family pass, it's a great place to cool off on hot summer days and for travellers to stop over or break their holiday road trip.
