With a lot of property development going on around the city, the team has been busy working on designs for apartments, student accommodation, and much more over the last three years.
The experienced Commercial Team can take care of everything involved with the interior aspect of a project - including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, and appliances.
‘‘Whatever the need is commercially, we can certainly make it happen,’’ Mitre 10 Mega Dunedin Commercial Admin Manager Alison Beck says. ‘‘The sky is the limit really.’’
And the process is simple. Clients can book an appointment online, and the team can either do an onsite meet, or work from plans.
While some customers have a good idea of what they’re looking for, often the Commercial Team is working with a blank canvas.
‘‘A lot of people don’t know what they’re looking for,’’ Commercial Design Coordinator Jaz Garrick says. ‘‘So we’ll do a measure and get the ideas from there. Then we’ll provide them with the design that we think will be applicable to the room. And we might change it half a dozen times until it meets their taste.’’

The Commercial Team at Mitre 10 Mega Dunedin also works with a local joiner to offer a custom cabinetry and installation service for kitchens, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and more.

Keeping on top of international interiors trends and new products being launched is one of the many exciting parts of the job for the team.
‘‘We keep up to date with what’s happening in the world,’’ Alison says. ‘‘The company’s really good at training, and we go to as much as we can so we know what’s available and what’s up and coming.’’
The Commercial Team believes in strong communication around expected timelines, and generally they can provide designs and quotes within two weeks. And they achieve approximately a 10 week turnaround from the time of ordering to installation.
Which is all part of the reason why they’ve had a lot of repeat business, and gained projects through word-of-mouth recommendations.
‘‘There are not many companies you can go to that look after everything inside,’’ Jaz says. ‘‘And it’s easier for them to just have one person to communicate with. All they’ve got to do is supply their builder or plumber... and we’ll keep in contact with them as well!’’
