CD Review: Post Malone

Soundcloud sensation and sadboi-in-chief Post Malone’s sophomore effort is aimed squarely at the streaming market he so successfully (and cynically) cornered with the likes of viral breakthrough White Iverson.

In spite of some intriguing musical flourishes — the feedback-flecked guitar on Takin’ Shots eerily offsets his slurred delivery — it’s hard to sympathise with someone who bemoans fickle, fatal fame while surrounded by superstar chums over the course of 18 tracks; Rich and Sad does what it says on the tin, while Zack and Codeine unironically proffers that "All these rappers, all sound the same now". Quite.
