Hayley Westenra engaged - report

Kiwi songstress Hayley Westenra is engaged to marry to her long-time French partner, according to UK reports.

The 24-year-old singer has been dating Arnaud Sabard, a French sound engineer, for a number of years.

He proposed to her on a recent New Zealand trip, the London Evening Standard reported.

A family friend reportedly announced the engagement to the paper.

"Hayley and her Frenchman, Arnaud Sabard, came to stay for a couple of days and, exciting news, they became engaged,'' the friend said.
