She's conquered Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Now Lady Gaga is set to rule another bastion of modern culture -- the hit cartoon TV show The Simpsons.
The flamboyant singer revealed her new role on Tuesday in Entertainment Weekly, a day after voicing the episode that sees her visit the Simpson's home town of Springfield to help residents battle their low self-esteem.

"I play a little bit of a slut," said Gaga, revealing a scene in which she smooches with Marge. "The apple doesn't fall far from my artistic tree."

Fans will have to wait for the new year to see the episode, which will appear in the show's 23rd season.

Simpsons creator Mat Groening said he was proud of Gaga's appearance on the show.

"Since the very beginning, I've always wanted to have on the most iconic personalities of our time, and she's it," he said. "It's very hard to top reality with her, but I'm sure we'll come up with something that is going to be as improbable as her usual wardrobe."
