Ibell wins major award

Alan Ibell has won the Otago Art Society's 2009 Edinburgh Realty Premier Art Awards, which were announced last week.

Ibell won the annual competition with his acrylic painting, Death of a Pale Horse.

Second place went to Graham Tait for Winter Light Strath Taieri and third place went to Susie Ruddenklau for Home on Leave.

Merit awards were also presented to Olav Nielsen for Nest and June Harris for Celadon & Crimson.

The People's Choice award will be chosen by popular vote and announced at the end of the exhibition.

The exhibition is open until August 30.

The Art Station is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
