The Crusaders have come from 21 points down to beat the Highlanders 30-27 at Forsyth Barr Stadium tonight.

The home team was ahead 27-6 early in the second half after leading 17-6 at the break but the Crusaders hung tough and scored two tries in the final five minutes to win.

Highlanders centre Malakai Fekitoa was yellow carded with eight minutes to go and that let the Crusaders in to wrestle back the advantage and take the win.

Crusaders 30

Whetu Douglas, David Havili, Seta Tamanivalu, penalty try; Marty McKenzie con, con, Mitch Hunt 2 pen

Highlanders 27:

Waisake Naholo 2, Gareth Evans tries; Lima Sopoaga 3 con, 2 pen

Halftime: 17-6 Highlanders

Comments

Don't blame Fekitoa as a poor decision re giving the yellow card, However, Lima at 1st 5 was appalling and should have been subbed 20 - 30 minutes earlier as his kicking and general game was well below what was expected.
