The new name of the South’s merged business support group has been chosen but will not be revealed until next month.
On Tuesday, the board of Business South signed off on a new name after members were asked to vote on three shortlisted suggestions — which were Business South Otago Chamber and Southern Employers, Elevate Chamber and Business Network, or Southern Business Otago Chamber and Southern Employers.
The organisation was formed out of the merger of the Otago Chamber of Commerce and Otago Southland Employers Association.
Business South was only a temporary name until the members decided on a permanent name.
The new name and brand will be revealed on October 1.

Gawd! That's the best 3 they could come up with? A distinct lack of imagination showing there.
I would suggest "Southern Businesses for Socialist Subsidies" as being fitting for what is likely to become their principle Govt lobbying activity.
If a camel is a horse deigned by a committee then the names suggested were truly a result of too many meetings. If you have a Netflix account may I recommend "W1A", a truly hilarious spoof of meetings at the BBC. The fact that it's made by the BBC nails it.
Yes, seen it. Hilarious.
