This Sunday, the Coronet Peak skifield marks the school holidays with Kids Day Out, with the focus firmly on the Fifa World Cup.
While they wait for Monday morning's cup final, children are invited to bring their parents to Sunday's programme.
Coronet Peak ski area manager Hamish McCrostie encouraged children and their families to come dressed in the colours of their favourite football team.
"We expect the day to be hugely popular with the combination of the school holidays and the final day of the World Cup.
"It's very much a family-oriented day with the emphasis on fun and games and a little bit of football rivalry thrown in for good measure," he said.
At 1pm, all children will get a chance to show off their football prowess at a penalty shoot-out, where NZSki's mascots Spike and Shred will join forces in the goal with Paddles the Polar Bear from Alpine Aqualand.
There will be prizes from Alpine Aqualand for the winners.
Mr McCrostie said the school holidays had meant a busy week at Coronet Peak.
"There has been a great atmosphere up here, where lots of families have enjoyed blue skies and a great snow."
This year NZSki has expanded its school holiday programmes to include 5-year-olds instead of last year's age-limit of 6.
