The "Flapping Flamingoes", a team of Otago Girls High School pupils, were having fun during their first Dunedin Relay for Life at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Pacific Radiology team members are (from left) Sandra Walding, Ashleigh Hammer, Lee Maher, and Jodie Gain, relaxing in between laps of Forsyth Barr Stadium. The 15-strong team of mainly workmates, were committed to the cause and had worked hard on fundraising for the Cancer Society.

Members of the "Gone But Never Forgotten" team took part in remembrance of family members lost to cancer. It was the team’s first time at the event — they were enjoying the experience and were also "thrilled" at the total raised in support of the Cancer Society — more than $175,000.

The "Better Together" team were led by 10-year-old Anderson’s Bay School pupil Miley Smither (right) who was determined to tackle the event to "celebrate, remember, and fight back against cancer". Joining Miley at the event were (from left) Neisha Smither, Asta Smither holding Maddison, 4, and (front) Lily Smither, 7.

Along with being the Dunedin Relay for Life "major partner", Mitre 10 Mega Dunedin staff and families were enthusiastic participants in Saturday’s event.
