Rasa School of Dance pupils Tahlia Mortimer, Shiah Taele and Aleija Tuakana hope to travel to the convention with Rasa principal Lisa Wilkinson for an event that would help them broaden their skills across multiple dance genres.
"In Dunedin, we do not get the experience of learning and dancing with such a high standard of dancers and teachers," Ms Wilkinson said.
"When you learn from the best, you grow to be the best.
"I would be so honoured to accompany these kids to take part in this event."
Facing high costs for flights to Auckland and accommodation, Ms Wilkinson launched a Boosted campaign to raise the $3000 needed to make the trip possible.
Set to close on Monday, the campaign sits at 83% of its target.
"We really need all the support we can get from the wider Dunedin community to get the girls there."

Rasa School of Dance pupils were also away last weekend at the national Hip Hop Unite dance competition in Wellington, competing in crews as well as duos and solos.
Jeila Morrison and Ruby Martin (both 12) were awarded gold for their first-place dance routine, which qualified them to compete in the New Zealand team at the international competition in Portugal in October.
