The week of events is organised by the Dunedin Multicultural Council and president Dr Lux Selvanesan said the aim was to foster unity and harmony.
The week starts with opening celebrations from 2pm at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum on Saturday, March 16, with a theme of kotahitaka or unity and togetherness.
New entries into the "We are Ōtepoti Dunedin" book will showcase the rich tapestry of communities in the city.
Dr Selvanesan said one of the week’s highlights was the Race Relations Forum, scheduled for Thursday, March 21, from 5.30pm at the University of Otago Union main common room.
This year the forum will operate as a workshop with discussions focusing on supporting change and self-care at a local level, and fostering community cohesion during times of international conflict.
Other events include singing at the Peace Pole in the Museum Reserve, a seminar on helping ethnic communities set up their own business, Men with Mana cooking, a senior meet and greet, and an art exhibition organised by the Dunedin Multicultural Youth Council.
The week concludes with a closing diversity potluck dinner at 5pm on Saturday, March 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fenton Cres, St Clair.
