A photo of mushrooms taken at Orokonui Ecosanctuary by Port Chalmers School pupil Coralie Frengley, 9, is the winning entry for the Tūhura Otago Museum Breeze Kids School Photography Competition.

Coralie was surprised at her school on Tuesday by radio presenters Hannah Wilkins and Damian Newell, of The Breeze which sponsored her category, and who gave her a Polaroid camera.

Every pupil in her class were given Tūhura Otago Museum science centre passes, granting them unlimited access for a year. Coralie said she was "very excited" for herself and her classmates.

Other finalists and winners in the annual photography competition will be announced at Tūhura Otago Museum on Saturday. Winning entries will be shown in a special exhibition.
