The funds were raised from the group running fashion shows at places such as retirement and residential homes throughout the year, showcasing their home-sewn fashions from the past.
While the easing of Covid-19 restrictions had made their job a little easier, visiting rest-homes was still a little tricky, with bookings sometimes having to be moved for health reasons at the last minute.
But the women still enjoyed the experience of coming together for a good cause.
As well as trips to retirement homes such as Ryman Healthcare, the group had also presented a fashion show to the Otago branch of the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association.
They were also invited to take part in recent anniversary celebrations at Broad Bay.
Images of the Past Dunedin member Lorraine Clark said the group would celebrate their own "knees up" at their final meeting this week, and in keeping with their image of elegant fashion, it would be a dressy affair.
"We all turn up in costumes instead of in jeans and tee-shirts."
