Dressed in their finest, about 100 people celebrated the coronation with afternoon tea, ballroom dancing and live music provided by Dunedin trio the Oxo Cubans.
Matt Ryan and Pamela Lee were crowned Age Concern Otago’s king and queen of the ball.

The ball was just one of many events that took place all over the region as locals joined millions across the world to watch the moment the King was crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.
Age Concern Otago chief executive Penelope Pask said it was great to see so many people come out for the event, as it was an opportunity for older people to get out of their homes and take part in a social activity: "[It was] an excuse to come out and celebrate and do something."
The ball was a chance to get dressed up to the nines, and there were many amazing outfits to be seen, she said.

"So they’ve really come out to celebrate the King’s coronation."
Mrs Pask thanked RSA Support Services, Blacks Road Grocer, Freda McGuckin Charitable Trust, Lloyd Wilson Motors and Gillions Funeral Services for helping support the event.
