Otago Peninsula artists’ group OpenArts Inc is taking an imaginative approach to its third annual spring exhibition, opening tomorrow at Macandrew Bay Community Hall.

OpenArts Inc chairman Roger Weston said the theme of the exhibition "Now — That’s Different" was in keeping with the group’s usual imaginative approach to its spring showcase.

"Experimenting with their ability and their artistic knowledge, these exceptionally talented artists have been challenged to expand their minds and develop their talents into another genre," he said.

"That’s how the ‘Now — That’s Different’ exhibition arrived, and this year we have also challenged artists to create works in black and white."

The spring exhibition also incorporates art works by local school children, and involves some artists being on hand to give demonstrations of their work and methods.

The exhibition will run from tomorrow to October 24 at Macandrew Bay community hall, open daily from 10am-4pm.
