The exhibition features society members’ artwork in a range of mediums including sculpture, painting, photography and jewellery.
The art society is celebrating younger members this year, and there is a new award worth $1500 especially for emerging artists under the age of 30.
The Elizabeth Howie Young Artist Award is sponsored by the Hughes Family Trust.
Howie, a relative of the Hughes family, was an artist and former committee member of the Otago Art Society.
While the society has a diverse range of artists, it is particularly keen to encourage and support new creatives who may be exhibiting their work for the first time.
The new award, along with discounts for student membership to Otago Art Society, is part of that vision.
The Elizabeth Howie Award is one of seven awards on offer at the exhibition.
This year, mother and son artists Pauline Bellamy and Manu Berry will be judging the artworks together.
All works will be for sale, and the exhibition will be open 10am to 4pm daily from June 18 to July 16, first floor, Dunedin Railway Station.
