The documentary Behind the Mask, created by Dunedin film-maker and doctor Paul Trotman, will screen online from June 25 to July 10 as part of the Doc Edge Festival.

As an immunocompromised person, Trotman was not able to work as New Zealand was hit with Covid-19.

So, he decided to document the experiences of health professionals around the world, interviewing more than 100 people via Zoom. The result was Behind The Mask, revealing the true cost of working on the frontline during a pandemic.

The film is one of 113 feature-length and short films in the online Doc Edge festival, which can be found at www.docedge.nz.
