Ben McLachlan is set to begin his fourth and final grand slam tournament of the year.

The 26-year-old will again team with Jan Lennard Struff in the men's doubles section of the US Open at Flushing Meadows.

They play the Italian pair of Matteo Berrettini and Andreas Seppi tomorrow in the first round.

It has been a big year for the Queenstown player, whose world ranking has risen to a career-high 24th.

That comes after impressive performances at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

In Australia he had a breakout tournament, whe he teamed with Struff for the first time and progressed to the semifinals, beating the top-ranked world duo in the process.

After dipping out early at Roland Garros, the pair then reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in July.

Since then their best results have been reaching the semifinals at the German Open and quarterfinals at the Washington Open.
