King's go top with tense win

King's High School first XV has gone to the top of the Otago Premier Schools standings with a tense 17-14 win against John McGlashan College this afternoon.

McGlashan scored two tries to one but Logan Wilson kicked four penalties for King's to help secure the win.

In the other top six game, Dunstan High School dispatched Mt Aspiring College 41-7 in Wanaka.

In the bottom six, Otago Boys' High School 2nd XV beat Taieri College 44-19 to take sole ownership of first place.

St Kevin's climbed into second place with a 34-29 win against Kavanagh College, and South Otago High School was too good for King's 2nds, winning 37-5.
