Highlanders players Kurt Baker and Sean Romans visited Montecillo Veterans Home and Hospital yesterday and took part in an indoor bowls day.
Romans and Baker found it tough going against the senior citizens.
The Highlanders are offering a special ticket deal for older members of the community tonight at the match against the Blues at Carisbrook.
Those aged 60 and over will get a ticket to the game for $15 and entry for friends of similar age will cost just another $10. As well as the cheaper ticket, they will be able to get a free cup of coffee when entering the ground.
Highlanders marketing manager Doug McSweeney said the deal was a way to attract the older members of the community to the game and thank them for their continued support.
McSweeney hoped for a crowd of about 15,000 for tonight's crunch game against the Blues, although only about 5500 tickets had been sold yesterday.
