In the Neil Purvis Memorial match at Tarras between Upper Clutha and Matakanui Combined, Upper Clutha secured the win 35-20 in front of a large crowd.
In another error-ridden match, Upper Clutha scored five tries, to captain Nick Thompson, Jamie McGinn, Byron Clarke, Mark Broderick and James Tisdall.
Matakanui also gave the supporters something to cheer about as it scored four tries of its own.
Fullback Owen McKee, wing Nathan Armstrong, halfback Steve Hore and second five-eighth Chris Nolan all crossed the line.
