Rugby: Tickets for Wales test selling well

Test tickets are selling like hot cakes and could be sold out within a couple of weeks.

Tickets for the June 19 test between the All Blacks and Wales will go on sale to the general public at Carisbrook tomorrow, though only people living south of the Waitaki River are able to buy them.

Otago All Blacks Ben Smith and Tom Donnelly will be at the ground tomorrow to help sell tickets, which will go on sale at other outlets on Monday.

More than 11,000 tickets had been sold to the rugby community, Otago Rugby Football Union marketing manager Doug McSweeney said, 3000 more than at the corresponding time last year for the testagainst France.

With tickets moving so well, the test could be sold out by the time the Otago-only period ends, on May 10.

The past two tests at Carisbrook, which has a capacity of about 28,000, have sold out.
