Rugby: Six changes for the Highlanders

Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph has shuffled his troops to take on the Crusaders in Nelson on Saturday.

Injuires has forced Joseph to make a raft of changes for the side which had a handsome win over the Rebels last week.

Colin Slade has been replaced at first five-eighth by veteran Tony Brown while outside him Ben Smith slots into the No 12 jersey as Shaun Treeby has damaged a medial ligament in his knee.

Robbie Robinson moves into fullback. James Paterson starts on the wing as Kade Poki is laid low by a knee injury.

Key flankers Adam Thomson and Alando Soakai are both out, with Soakai having an injured shoulder and Thomson a haematoma on his thigh.

Jarrad Hoeata shifts to the blindside flank with Tom Donnelly coming into the locking position.

John Hardie gets his first start of the year in the No 7 jersey.

Hooker Mahonri Schwalger starts instead of Jason Rutledge.
