The event is in its sixth year and organisers have managed to get most of the trophies out of the New Zealand Rugby Union cabinet and shipped to Queenstown for the weekend.
The tournament will be played at the Queenstown Recreation Ground on January 10-11.
Co-organiser Richie Anderson said the Bledisloe Cup, the Tri-Nations trophy, the Super 14 trophy, the Ranfurly Shield, the Air New Zealand Cup and the IRB World Sevens trophy would all be on show.
If the All Blacks beat England tomorrow morning it is also hoped to have the Hillary Shield on display.
Anderson said there would be plenty of security involved in getting the trophies from Wellington to Queenstown but would be a chance to get up close to trophies which the public usually saw only from afar.
There will be a larger Otago presence on the paddock than normal, with an Otago Country side taking part along with the Otago team.
Otago Country had filled in when a team withdrew several years ago but is a fully fledged entrant this time, and players will be training hard over the next few weeks under coach Tim Colling.
There will be 16 teams at the tournament, with the list of teams to be finalised in the next week.
Auckland, coached by Eric Rush, has won the tournament every year except for the first year when it was won by North Harbour.
A special guest has also been a feature of the tournament, with players such as Jonah Lomu and Christian Cullen attending in that capacity in previous years.
Anderson said the organisers were still trying to get a special guest for the tournament, and hoped to get an All Black from the Grand Slam tour.
With the tournament played so close to New Year, he hoped for a bumper crowd, still in holiday mode.
It starts on January 10 at 11am, preceded by a powhiri. The final will start about 7pm on the Sunday.
The tournament will be televised live on Sky Sport.
