Rugby: Maniototo break losing streak

Maniototo got its season back on track, after losing five matches in a row, by beating neighbour Matakanui Combined 31-7 at Omakau.

The match was a close affair in the first half, as both sides created scoring opportunities and capitalised on them.

Centre Jeremy Leuthwaite had two converted tries before the break to take the score out to 14-0 before Nathan Armstrong crossed for Matakanui, to keep the game close.

After halftime, Maniototo started to dominate and the pressure it created resulted in a penalty goal and two more tries.

Second five-eighth Charlie Hore scored before a penalty try was awarded to blow the score out.
