The former All Black and Otago prop has donned a dress - a pretty pink number - to help flog tickets for his Newcastle Falcons club in England.
In a promotion filmed recently, Hayman appears as "Mother" alongside team-mates James Grindal ("Father"), Micky Ward ("Son") and John Golding ("Daughter") to advertise the club's new family ticket option.
Grindal, a halfback, told the Northumberland Journal the promotion was "a bit different".
"It was a bit of a challenge to do this fancy dress," Grindal said. "Having a wife the size of Carl and a beard like his is a bit surreal."
Newcastle Falcons marketing manager Gill Stephenson said the club had never offered a family ticket.
"What we wanted to do is to show the players . . . are about more than just the rugby."
The Falcons website said the group made "a lovely picture of a happy family, where Grindal clutched Hayman's waist, Golding played with his hair braids and Ward hung on to his Falcons teddy bear".
"At one point, Grindal even proposed to Hayman, who wore a fetching pink outfit and size 13 sandals."
