Otago Spirit gave a gutsy display and rattled Auckland in the first half when they scored three tries to lead 17-12.
But the star studded Auckland womens rugby team came storming back in the second spell to scored 16 unanswered points to win the game 28-17 and remain unbeaten for the season.
Otago finished third in the NPC behind Auckland and Canterbury.
