Rugby: Chilly but dry for match

It should be a chilly but dry afternoon for Otago's Ranfurly Shield challenge against Southland at Rugby Park in Invercargill today.

The MetService in Wellington told the Otago Daily Times yesterday that the day should start dismally, with a cold southeast wind bringing rain to Invercargill.

There should be less rain in the afternoon and the day is expected become drier before kick-off at 4.30pm.

The maximum temperature at Invercargill today is forecast to be 8degC, but it is expected to get colder before the end of the game.
