Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske said in all honesty his side is looking forward to going home but desperately wants to bag a win tonight.

The Cheetahs have been on the road since February 12, when they left their Bloemfontein base to play the Lions in nearby Johannesburg in the first round of the Super 14. Since then it has been five games for five losses, all away from home.

"It is too long away from home, to be honest. But there is nothing you can do about it.

"One year you might get a good draw, then the next year you might not get quite the same," Drotske said.

He said the side had not targeted the game against Carisbrook tonight as a win from the start of the season.

"On any long tour, you just look from week to week and target every game.

"But playing them here will be tough.

"They are a dangerous side on their home track."

Drotske said the side had 10 decisions from television match officials in its five games on tours and not one of them had gone his side's way.

He said the side was suffering from inexperience and a lack of continuity in this side.

"Winning is a habit and you can see that in this competition. We just need to bag that first win."

Drotske said his side was losing players every year, which cost it consistency.

"We just need to score tries. We are creating five or six opportunities in games but are not converting them."

He said a win tonight would be based on a gutsy defence, and the ability to convert chances into points.
