Otago has chalked up its first win of the Mitre 10 Cup with a convincing 50-17 win over Manawatu in Palmerston North this afternoon.

The side was behind 17-14 at the break but took over in the second half and was all over the home team which had poor ball security and missed too many tackles.

Otago scored 36 unanswered points in the second half.

Otago made the advantage line with ease and pilfered the ball at the breakdown as Manawatu fell apart in the second half.
