The Highlanders confirmed seventh place in the Super Rugby table last night with a 40-17 over the Reds last night.
The southern franchise will play either the Crusaders or the Lions in next weekend’s quarterfinals depending on results over the next 24 hours.
If the Crusaders beat the Hurricanes in Wellington tonight, the Highlanders will be heading to South Africa to take on the Lions. But if the Hurricanes win and the Lions beat the Sharks in Durban tomorrow morning, they will take on the Crusaders in Christchurch.
Brown was keen to head to the Garden City.
"I want to go to Christchurch and take on the Crusaders again," he said.
"The Lions and the Crusaders are both going to be tough games. We feel we have a better chance against the Crusaders without the travel."
Both games against them had been close "so we are keen to give them another go", he said.
"Around the playoffs it is about a little bit of momentum, a little bit of luck and playing some real quality rugby. Let’s hope we can do that."
If the side had to go to South Africa it would fly to Sydney tomorrow and then head to South Africa on Monday.Brown was happy with the effort in last night’s win and the Highlanders scored some nice tries.
"I think our intent on attack early was awesome. That is the mindset we need to play with. I felt we executed a couple of nice set-piece tries.
"A few things at the end of the game did not go our way ... it allowed the Reds to finish in a niggly sort of way. But that is footy. We were pretty happy with that result.
"We had a lot of endeavour early on and scored some nice tries. But then we let the Reds maybe dictate the back end of the first half ... We fixed that at the start of the second half."
