Taieri scored six tries and 36 unanswered points in a productive 35 minutes at Peter Johnstone Park to beat Kaikorai.
The game had reached a stalemate when Kaikorai led 3-0 after 30 minutes. Neither side was able to break the defensive strangleholds imposed by both teams.
Taieri lifted its game in the last six minutes of the spell with its forwards making ground with the ball in hand.
The first try came after a solid Taieri scrum inside the 22m. Centre Kieran Moffat used his strength to create the half gap, stood in the tackle and unloaded to flanker Nathan Young, who scored under the bar.
Two tries in the final two minutes of the spell gave Taieri a 19-3 lead at the break.
The last try was created by prop Brett Anderson who burst clear with the ball from halfway and unloaded to hooker Will Hurst, who was up in support to score the try.
Anderson was the player of the day with his strong scrummaging, lethal bursts and strong defence.
No 8 and captain Charlie O'Connell was a tireless forward and flanker Nathan Young tackled Kaikorai out of the game and was on hand to support the ball carrier.
Taieri continued to exert its dominance in the second spell and added three tries and 17 points.
The best Kaikorai forward was prop Blair Laughton, who was like a pocket bulldozer, as he drove forward with the ball in hand.
First five-eighth Matt Te Tana kicked accurately and was the best of the backs.
