Rugby: Rampant Taieri rout Zingari

First five-eighth Andrew Reid played a dominant role when Taieri scored seven tries to beat Zingari-Richmond at Peter Johnstone Park.

Reid landed seven goals to score 22 points. His tactical kicking for territory was also on target when the rain started and weather conditions became rough in the second spell.

Taieri led 21-7 at the break and adjusted better to the changed weather conditions than Zingari.

Centre Kieran Moffat was able to break the line and he used his speed to score two tries and set up a third. His partnership with Ben Nowell gave Taieri a formidable midfield.

Loose forwards Rowan Beadle and Logan O'Connell kept pressure on Zingari and locks Steve Green and Matt Larson controlled the lineout.

Taieri had a more structured approach to the game than Zingari but individuals Nathan Napier at centre and Chris Bell at No 8 showed touches of class for Zingari.

- Taieri 52 (Kieran Moffat 2, Andrew Reid, James Kenny, Logan O'Connell, Brett Anderson, Henry Parker tries; Reid 4 con, 3 pen), Zingari-Richmond 7 (Nathan Napier try; Mark Hunter con). Halftime: 21-7. Referee: Todd Pullar.
