There was still a splattering of tickets available when the Otago Daily Times phoned for an update late yesterday afternoon.
But Dunedin Venues chief executive Terry Davies was confident the "sold out" sign would be out soon.
"We’ve got a handful of tickets but the reality is we are only getting dribs and drabs that are left over and hand-backs from New Zealand Rugby.
"We should be announcing a sellout any time now. It will be a full house on Saturday night", Davies said.
That means the best part of 29,000 fans. And it is a economic boon for the city.
Based on the previous average spend, the city’s economy is set for a $10 million-plus boost.
"It has got to be over $12m for the weekend. We won’t know [exactly] until we run the numbers after but this is what the stadium does. That is why cities invest in stadiums."
Davies speculated interest had been so strong because it was a new era for the All Blacks.
Coach Scott Robertson will lead the team for the first time and the squad features some fresh faces.
"I think it is going to be a great night and I expect to see a close contest."
