The Alexandra club reaches a milestone tomorrow when it celebrates 125 years of rugby.
The main event on the day is a derby match against Omakau-based side Matakanui Combined, which beat Alexandra in its own 125th anniversary match last season.
Alexandra assistant coach and club president Shane Ryan is excited about the day and hoping for a win.
''It's a big occasion and with playing Matak, it should be a good game and a good crowd,'' Ryan said.
Matakanui Combined has won its past three matches on the trot and lost just one game from four matches this season.
Alexandra is also three from four this season and comes off an excellent 22-8 win over Arrowtown last weekend which has put the players in high spirits for this weekend.
''The boys are pretty happy with that,'' Ryan said.
''It was our first win against Arrowtown since they came back up to the prems.''
A large crowd is expected tomorrow.
Junior games start proceedings at 1pm followed by the main game at 2.30pm and a celebratory dinner in the evening.
