The "ladies" cleaned up at the Ashburton gallops on Thursday, winning all seven races in what may have been a first for the industry in New Zealand.
Samantha Wynne was one of the winners, along with Tina Comignaghi, Alysha Collett, Samantha Collet and Hayley Bennet. She collected two victories and told the Otago Daily Times she was not sure that achievement would have been possible in her native Ireland.
While female jockeys were treated equally here, the same was not true elsewhere.
"We are over here but probably not so much in England and Ireland, whereas here the ladies seem to hold their own, you know," the 29-year-old she said.
"I don't think I would have been doing this in Ireland. I think I would have been just a stable girl if I stayed at home, so I'm very grateful I came here and got the opportunity. The girls get a really good go here.
"I think, in this day and age, they are just getting put more on the map, you know."
New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing media liaison Tim Barton said it was possible it was the first time all the races at a meeting had been won by female jockeys. But he was not sure whether it could be confirmed.
First or not, it was a wonderful result.
"It was a good day for the ladies. They are all riding well at the moment ..."
There was no time for celebrations, with most having to "shoot off and catch flights", Wynne said, "but we will definitely catch up somewhere along the line when we have a bit more time."
