The Oamaru trainer lines up 10 horses across the four trotting events at the Wyndham Harness Racing Club’s meeting.
Williamson steps out three runners in the feature trot, race 10, including impressive last-start performer Father Christmas.
The horse ran a brave second behind War Machine at Roxburgh on Thursday from the back mark of 30m on what was a track-record speed.
Backing up from such a big run is Williamson’s main concern.
"As long as he cops the back-up is the main thing with him. He has had a couple of races back-to-back. But he seems really well and he should be a good chance."
Pyramid Magic has a 20m head start on Father Christmas, the 40m back-marker, which will help his chances.
"There would not be a lot between them, so he would be a chance as well," Williamson said.
Impressive Winton winner I’ve Got This steps up in grade, but that is not his trainer’s main concern.
"It was great to get a win for the owner at Winton because he has been a frustrating horse.
"The grass [track] is a little bit of a concern. He is just not as sharp on the grass and his record on grass tracks isn’t any good."
Williamson has the chance to show off his astute training skills by turning around the recent fortunes of the talented Davey Mac in race 4.
"I think he could go well, with fingers crossed, but I am not getting carried away with how he will go," he said.
"He is definitely capable of going much better than he has been or he wouldn’t be there."
Two 3yr-old fillies who are last-start winners, Majestic Galleon and Kenny’s Dream, line up in race 6 for the stable.
Williamson favours Kenny’s Dream as she has more solid manners, while Majestic Galleon is still learning the trotting game and is faced with starting from the sometimes tricky barrier of 1.
"Kenny’s Dream has the better all-around game and the other filly is not quite as tractable yet," Williamson said.
The trainer said if his third-stringer in the event, She Aint No Angel, showed much better manners than in her last start she would be competitive. Williamson will unveil three first-starters in Our Foxy Lady, Springbank Ella and Without Doubt in race 1.
"Without Doubt is clearly the best chance. The other two just need some racing.
"Springbank Ella, who is an 8yr-old, she is honest enough and could go a sneaky race.
"Our Foxy Lady is a 3yr-old who only qualified last week and she needs experience."
Driver Matthew Williamson, who teams with three of his father’s horses, will also shoot for three consecutive Central Otago cup race wins. He combines with Quite Ideal for trainer Brad Mowbray in today’s Cromwell Cup.
Williamson and Mowbray won the Central Otago Cup with Tiger Thompson on Tuesday and the Roxburgh Cup with Delishka on Thursday.
