David Walsh, who rode three winners at Waimate yesterday, will turn his attention to Wingatui tomorrow where he is back riding Georgies Girl.

Walsh rode Georgies Girl to win a race for 3yr-olds at Ashburton in June. Georgies Girl, a member of the in-form Riccarton stable of Terri Rae, has had a second and a fourth in three subsequent starts.

Walsh will also ride Family Present in a rating 75 2200m tomorrow. Family Present has been runner-up in his last two starts. The Bunker gelding has been nominated for the New Zealand Cup in November.

His Riccarton trainer Kevin Hughes also has Missceo in the 2200m race. Missceo was a last-start winner over 2100m at Washdyke with Alysha Collett the rider. Shankar Muniandy has the mount tomorrow.

Heading the field is Viva La Danske, whose rider, Toni Direen, can claim 3kg from his top weight of 60.5kg. She has ridden Viva La Danske to win his last two starts at Invercargill and Gore, both on heavy tracks. The Wingatui track is rated heavy. Viva La Danske won a 2200m race by eight lengths on a heavy track at Wingatui in June last year.

Walsh won on Show The Cash, Orabella and Natkingcole at Waimate. He was a replacement for Danielle Johnson on Natkingcole. Johnson was stood down after she was unseated from Hamilton Coup in the closing stages of race 4.

Chaparella could bounce back from a dismal 4yr-old season to win at Wingatui. She was an impressive trial winner there on September 7. Chaparella, who won the Gore Guineas and a listed race for fillies at Wingatui as a 3yr-old, could only manage a fresh up second in seven starts last season. She was subsequently treated for a severe throat infection.

• Lisa Whelan has had her allowance reduced by 1kg to 2kg after two wins at Waimate yesterday. She has now ridden 31 winners, including 15 this season. She is the leading apprentice. Whelan rides at Otaki today and New Plymouth tomorrow. She will return to Waimate on Monday.

Her rides at New Plymouth include Noess, winner of his last three starts. The Generous gelding is in a 3210m race.

Whelan won on Warrant (Waimate Cup) and Tropical Storm yesterday. Both horses are trained at Wanganui by Whelan's mentor Kevin Myers, who won the Waimate Cup in 2004 with Zeb.
