Racing: Unbeaten Victorian 2-year-old for feature at Addington

The unbeaten Victorian pacer Cullen Bromac confirmed a trip to Christchurch for the $300,000 PGG Wrightson Yearling Sales Pace for 2yr-olds on Saturday week with his fifth win at Melton on Saturday night.

Cullen Bromac rated 2.00 for 2240m (mobile) in the hands of Jodie Quinlan.

Cullen Bromac is trained at Warragul by Debbie Quinlan for Peter Gibbon, of Warragul. Cullen Bromac is due to be flown to Auckland tomorrow week. He will have 36 hours at the stable of Tony Herlihy before flying to Christchurch.

Cullen Bromac, a $150,000 purchase at the 2009 Australasian Classic sale in Auckland, is a colt by Christian Cullen from Classic Blue Jeans.

He was bred by Bromac Lodge and Philtoon Developments Ltd. The Christchurch-based Bromac Lodge is operated by Bob McArdle.

Cullen Bromac is the fifth winner from six foals to race out of Classic Blue Jeans.

He is a half-brother to Attorney General, who won a Franklin Cup and took a record of 1.48.4 in the United States.

Classic Blue Jeans is an unraced half-sister by Camluck to Falcons Blue Jean (1.51.8).

Classic Blue Jeans has a colt at foot by Christian Cullen and she is in foal to Art Major. McArdle is breeding from Crown Defender, an unraced daughter of Life Sign and Classic Blue Jeans.

• Charlotte Hunter drove her first winner when successful with Prince Of Vance at Washdyke yesterday.

Hunter (26), who is employed in the registrations department of Harness Racing New Zealand, was having her 24th race drive after being licenced as a junior this season.

Prince Of Vance is trained at Oxford by her father, Henderson Hunter.

• Mike De Filippi drove his first winner for the season yesterday.

He is the trainer-driver of Sunglasses N Cigars. •The 3yr-old by Courage Under Fire was having her first start.

De Filippi has cut back on his driving and he was having his 18th assignment since the start of the season on August 1.

De Filippi (59) has driven 1158 winners.
