Winning a big wedge of money is not supposed to be easy.
That is why we have called on the knowledge of Canterbury commentator-presenter Matthew Cross to help us grab a share of the $150,000 Pick6 at Methven tomorrow.
Here is his take on how to tackle the six legs:
Leg 1 (race 6):
''It's a bit tougher than what it looks because it's 3000m. Mustang Bullitt has been going well in its last two, Living Glory had a workout there last week and looked really good - he's probably the one I'd have on top. For Burn Off, the 3000m will be right up his alley and Supershakes has probably got more ability than all of these.
You need: Mustang Bullitt, Living Glory, Supershakes, Burn Off
Leg 2 (race 7):
''This is the sort of the race where you can get a $50 shot popping up because there's not a lot of exposed form around those horses with manners. All Royal Gal has run second in its last two starts but it can do things wrong. Blue Don is trained on the beach so the 3000m won't be too much of a problem - it will stay all day. You must have Brookside Colt on your ticket since he's back on the grass - he doesn't like the grit.''
You need: Blue Don, All Royal Gal, Brookside Colt
Leg 3 (race 8):
''Perissa is drawn the pole and Mark Jones team is going pretty well - she likes the grass, too. K C Monet won on the grass at Motukarara four starts ago and jogged it there.''
You need: Perissa, KC Monet
Leg 4 (race 9):
''If you wanted to have one rough one here, it would be Alan Golightly. But I think you just need Culinary Delight who has been going quite well and the draw really aids her. Romanite won here three starts back and is from the good Brendon Hill barn. It's probably one of the races where you can go a bit short.''
You need: Culinary Delight, Romanite
Leg 5 (race 10):
''Never Fear is a rather handy mare when she does trot, Sarah Palin won on the grass last time, and the one I really like is Lavros Segil, who has been going good races against far better opposition than this.''
You need: Never Fear, Sarah Palin, Lavros Segil
Leg 6 (race 11):
''Carrickmannon has run second in its first two runs back; To Ri Declan was good winning at Reefton in its only start and it's back to what you might call its home track here; and Just Ben was also good winning last time out at Oamaru.''
You need: Carrickmannon, To Ri Declan, Just Ben
Matthew's suggested bet:
Leg 1 - 5,6,9,13
Leg 2 - 5,9,15
Leg 3 - 1,6
Leg 4 - 4,7
Leg 5 - 5,11,12
Leg 6 - 3,9,10
$25 for 10% of the dividend (432 combinations).
