The husband and wife have Another Player at Invercargill and Jumanji Franco at Addington.
The pair are among four horses they have in work.
Thornley will drive at both venues.
Another Player joined their stable this season after being bought by Peter Chambers, of Jakarta.
She had won at Oamaru and Richmond Park from four starts last season for owner- trainer Gavin Mills.
She has since had three starts for a fourth at Kaikoura, a win at Ashburton last month and an unplaced run at Orari.
"It was her first start on grass at Orari and she slipped at the start and broke," Thornley said.
Another Player will remain in the care of Ken McRae at Waimumu for racing on the holiday circuit.
Jumanji Franco ran fourth at Forbury Park on November 25.
"She has drawn wide over 1950m at Addington and will need luck," Thornley said.
Thornley drove a truck from Halswell to Waimumu yesterday with four horses from Spreydon Lodge, where Steven McRae is the trainer.
The stable has Custom Franco (owned by Chambers) and Franco Legionnaire engaged at Invercargill, with Thornley the driver.
Franco Legionnaire won first up at Invercargill 12 months ago. He then finished second to Flying Diamonds at Roxburgh.
He has raced once this season for a third to Tesoro and First Art at Rangiora on November 4.
Franco Legionnaire has the up-and-coming Christian Brother as a rival in race 4 today.
Both horses have drawn the second line.
