The winner of five hurdles races, Dan Moran will be ridden by Andrew Glassonbury in the maiden steeplechase.
Dan Moran qualified for steeplechasing when he schooled over the Riccarton country on May 24.
He was ridden by Glassonbury, who works part time for Ross Beckett, the Riccarton trainer of Dan Moran.
"He [Dan Moran] was ready for steeplechasing last year but we decided to try the Waikato Hurdles again this year," Beckett said.
"He has had two or three schools over Riccarton and has jumped well."
Beckett has Blueonice and Cross Da Cape having their first starts over hurdles tomorrow.
Blueonice finished second to Smeagol in a hurdles trial at Ashburton on May 13.
The Chief Bearhart gelding has won three races. Cross Da Cape has won twice.
"The only worry I have got is the race being over 3000m. It is a long way for maiden hurdlers."
Titsgitten has resumed work with Beckett.
The Danske gelding was spelled after finishing third to Fercertain and Kaapeon Way in the group three Thompson Handicap (1600m) at Trentham in March.
He won the Amberley Cup (1600m) at Riccarton in February, one of his five wins since he cleared maiden ranks at Ashburton 14 months ago.
"I would like to run him in the Coupland's Mile at Riccarton in November," Beckett said.
Michelle Carston, who can claim 3kg, has been engaged for Groove Assassin in a rating 90 1800m race at Riccarton tomorrow.
Groove Assassin was a last-start winner over 1800m at odds of 15 to one at Riccarton on May 23 with Jason Laking the rider.
