Global Invasion made a comeback from injury to win at Forbury Park on Friday night.
Global Invasion had not raced for 11 months.
"She tore a tendon off a fetlock and had six months in the paddock," Ray Jenkins, her West Melton trainer and part-owner, said.
"We have given her a long build-up to ensure she was 100% recovered."
Global Invasion, co-owned by Jenkins and his sister Dianne Kean, of Limehills, began racing last season as a 4yr-old and had a win at Washdyke from four starts.
"We have not been worried about giving her plenty of time, being by Armbro Invasion, and we want to keep her as a broodmare," Jenkins said.
Globe Trotter, the dam of Global Invasion, won 10 races, including the 1999 Trotters' Mile at Ashburton for Jenkins and Kean.
Globe Trotter broke a leg in the paddock last year and had to be put down.
Global Invasion held off the favourite, The Fiery Ginga, by half a length.
The Fiery Ginga, who started from 40m, was set a difficult task after the stablemates, Lucy Hest and Aylesham, dictated a strong pace.
Lucy Hest spread the field out early and gave way to Aylesham at the 1800m.
Global Invasion raced handy and headed Aylesham 100m out.
The Fiery Ginga came from seven lengths off the lead at the 400m.
Jenkins, who was racing his horses for the first time this season, won later in the night with Cee Uin L A.
He shares the ownership of the 5yr-old with his daughter, Shelley, of Christchurch.
